The Well Woman Action Plan

“I’m so tired I can’t put one foot in front of the other.”

“I wish everyone would just piss off and leave me alone.”

“Why can’t you all see what I need?”

“Oh my God my period is so heavy I hope I don’t leak on the seat, I can feel it leaving my body, I can’t concentrate I just need to get to the toilet NOW.”

“It feels like someone has punched me in the stomach, I feel so sick and the cramps are so bad. How am I going to do today?”

“I wish I didn’t have to do this every fucking month, next time I’m coming back as a man.”

“Great even sex is ruined now because that hurts too.”

“What will happen to me when I hit peri-menopause? Or menopause?”

Have you ever thought or said those things out loud? I have, I reckon I can resonate with pretty much all of those.

Our culture is so taboo on period talk; we still don’t know what our bodies are capable of or how we are affecting them with our lifestyles.

Women are walking around in the knowledge that what they are experiencing is normal, and that they need to grow a pair and get on with it. Sure have some hormones that will sort you right out….or will it?

During the lengthy 10 year diagnosis of Endometriosis, Adenomyosis, Fibroids and Ovarian Cysts, I would have loved for there to be someone I could turn to and ask the questions that weren’t being answered by my health professionals.

In this time of getting no answers other than take the pill, I invested my time in researching what might make me better myself. I enrolled on a herbology course, trained in Mizan, changed my diet and lifestyle bit by bit. I saved my womb, by doing these things, that’s a big deal!

I am now in a place of knowingness with my body, with my health choices, with my way of keeping her strong. I have found my own way to make myself better and I want to share this with you.
